Cock Island Race Portsmouth VA

Bryce the Grinder getting warmed up
Before Race warm-up; 90 boats in the race, so evey crewmember has to hold their own.  Bryce gets the starboard headsail winch.  Not a problem.

Karen balances the wine with deck-fluff duties

Need to balance work with pleasure.   Karen has it down to a science. Strawberries and wine, the best shade and airflow on the boat, and clear eye on our kiddos forward and helmsman to aft.

Lunch for the family-crew...the only way to go

A full lunch menu always makes for a great race day. Karen, Lauren & Ken, Brent & Alli tee-up the light snack for the day

Alli, Karen and Lauren enjoy the best seat on the boat

Ladies always know how to get the best seat in the house as the guys watch the rhumb line, fickle winds, and surrounding boats.  Great race - finished 8th in class. The only fully rigged cruiser, from AC and loaded refrig/freezer, to dinghy aft and 2000 lbs in water and fuel.  A great day for sailing...and family
