24-27 May Memorial Day in Hampton

The 25-30kt winds howled as we crossed the James River headed toward the Hampton Bar. Jacklines and harnesses on, sails well reefed, and waves breaking over the bow with green water running alongside the cockpit, it was one of those days that big and heavy was a great compliment about The Belle. We motored up the Hampton River to the Hampton City docks and linked-up with friends that arrived the day prior.  Lauren and Bryce joined us to  make the fun near complete. An evening of heavy Poo-Poos and then salmon on the grill set the stage for the weekend.  Lauren and Bryce settled into the cabin beds, turned on the TV/DVD, and with fresh popcorn in hand quickly went to sleep as The Belle slowly rocked in her slip. What a great weekend to enjoy family. The race home was just as exciting as the following sea and broad-reach made for a fast sail back to our marina.
