10 Aug Army-AirForce-Navy Tri Service Race

With weather looking more and more like a blue-bird day, The Belle and crew loaded up for some fun on the southern Bay for the annual Tri-Service Race.  Unfortunately, the 8kt AM breeze quickly fell to 3-5 kts as the race slowed to a snail's pace. Not to be out-done, we broke out some great fast-moving music to at-least simulate a summer escape to the Islands. So, off we slinked along at a blazing 3-4 kts against an increasing in-coming tide.  The wind shifted from NW to E, and during the dead-calm
wind shift, we finished off a nice lunch, then readied for the rising winds to head to the finish line,  Yes it was fun.  We started, had  a great time, finished, and had a wonderful sail back to the Navy Base Marina.  Could not ask for anything more. More importantly, the new sails all got some real sun and use, not quite the heavy winds we'd prefer, but enough to point well, lay nice and flat as the winds rised, and quick to adjust and move with all the great sounds of new sails.  thanks for a great weekend sail!
