18 Aug Almond Home-School Family Day on the Bay

There's no substitute for getting kiddos, Moms and Dads on the Bay sailing. Add the Grandparents and you have a home run sail. So, with the Almond family in-total aboard, The Belle headed out for a fun sail on Wiloughby Bay in some great wind (12-15kt) and fun seas (2-3') with a passing low to add to the weather control fun. Everyone sat forward in the bow-pulpit seat enjoying the spread-arms of being literally out front like the gal on the Titanic (only we stay afloat). With a wind shift for a cruise on the James River past CVN Eisenhower and Grandpa Myron at the helm, the kiddos settled in for a run on the Elizabeth River, use of the head, and riding the rail. we all have a bit of hidden pirate in us, and time on the water brings out the best in all. The old sailors out here need to help excite the youth...for they are the sailors of tomorrow.
